CONFIRMATION THIS SUNDAY: Bishop Ruth will be with us at our 10am worship this Sunday for the Sacrament of Confirmation and Holy Communion. She will be confirming Paul Oakley and Kathy Kuntz. There will be a reception following our worship to welcome our bishop and honor our confirmands. The Mission Council and Search Committee will meet with the Bishop, in the church, following the reception.
RETURN TO OFFERING THE CHALICE NEXT WEEK: Beginning Sunday, May 29th, we will return to offering the Chalice during Holy Communion for those who wish to receive. This has been approved by the diocese and our Mission Council. You may receive by drinking from the Common Cup, or by intinction (dipping your wafer slightly into the wine). Or you may wish to receive the bread only at Communion. All three options are equally valid ways of receiving a FULL communion. The Chalice Bearers will be re-trained by Father Bob this next week, so that we are extra careful to keep the chalice reverently clean. We are looking forward to this “return to normal”… but are always aware that an increase in Covid cases could revert us back to “bread only” for Holy Communion.
VALIANT SEEKERS TO MEET NEXT WEEK: We will read “Denmark Vesey’s Garden: Slavery and Memory in the Cradle of the Confederacy” by Ethan J. Kytle and Blain Roberts. You can find an interview with the authors that we did at The Citadel last year at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7TrV25sreQ Look forward to seeing you on the 24th at 2PM. If you would like to ZOOM with us for Valiant Seekers discussion, please email Pat Neumann to get an email link.
